Learn about the unique geology of Sinks Canyon State Park during a presentation by Dr. Miriam Barquero-Molina, June 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Visitor Center. A part of the Sinks Canyon Summer Speaker Series, Dr. Barquero-Molina’s presentation features a gneiss talk, good laughs, and a crystal clear understanding of the geology of the canyon! All ages are welcome! Shale we see you there? Dr. Barquero-Molina is a professor at the University of Missouri. She is a world renowned geologist who specializes in structural geology. Currently she is the director of the University of Missouri Field Geology Camp, which is one of the oldest geology field camps in the United States. Dr. Barquero-Molina uses her every-day expertise to glean more information about the world around her while hiking, biking, and rock observing.
