About Our Site - Edness K. Wilkins State Park
Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park is just 6 miles from Casper and is noted as the perfect picnic place. Cottonwood trees shade 40 plus picnic areas of which several are within a short distance to the swimming pond.
Volleyball and horseshoe pits invite the picnickers to recreate as the burgers and brats are cooking.
2.8 miles of trail will give the food time to settle as you walk along with the cool breezes of the historical North Platte River.
EKW has been designated one of Audubon Wyoming’s important bird areas.
Sitting right in the Migratory Flyway; this bird watchers paradise can see up to 100 different species in a season. The Park is also noted for white tail deer, mule deer and antelope, along with several small animals such as prairie dogs, 13 lined ground squirrels, red fox, kit fox and gray fox.

Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park invites everyone to enjoy a morning of canoeing and paddle boarding out on the large pond the last three Wednesdays in August.
Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park will provide eight canoes and four paddleboards which will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. until noon, on August 11, 18, and 25.
Park staff will be present, and will be happy to provide basic instructions on paddling, and getting in and out of canoes, for anyone who is interested.
Lifejackets will be provided, and will be mandatory for anyone using park canoes or paddleboards. If you have your own, feel free to bring it!
Guests will be asked to wear masks, so long as they are in close contact with park staff or others outside of their household. We're looking forward to seeing you there!
