There are several scenic overlook locations at Medicine Lodge. Most are atop rock outcroppings or hilltops directly adjacent to the park and offer spectacular views of the western slope of the Bighorn Mountains.

Medicine Lodge has a dedicated, day use only picnic day with 4 picnic tables. Visitors may also picnic in unoccupied campsites.
The dedicated picnic area is located at the north end of the main parking area, near the petroglyph cliff.
Year-round, however the picnic area is day-use only and must be vacated by 10 p.m.
Medicine Lodge is home to a 700 foot long sandstone cliff that contains hundreds of Native American petroglyphs and pictographs. Some date to as old as 2,000 years before present.
