Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites and Trails (SPHST) is offering funding for trail-related projects throughout the State of Wyoming. Wyoming Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Grants are administered through the Federal Highway Administration and are derived from federal gas taxes paid on fuel used in off-highway vehicles.

FY 2027 GRANT CYCLE: IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES
May 1, 2026: FY 2027 Grant Cycle Application Process Opens
September 1, 2026: Pre-Application Package is due by 11:59 PM
- Second Week of September 2026: Pre-applicants will receive feedback and guidance in accordance with the RTP Guidelines, specifically regarding their eligibility and prerequisites for proceeding to the full application
October 1, 2026: Final Application Package is due by 11:59 PM
- November 2026: Trails Advisory Council meeting to approve project funding recommendations
- December 2026: Applicants will be notified if their project is approved for funding
- May 2027: The earliest date any approved projects will receive a Notice to Proceed
