Oregon Trail Ruts State Historic Site (OTRSHS) is itself a historical feature. It is one of the most spectacular locations to see evidence of the great westward movement of the 1800’s. The Oregon Trail, California Trail and the Mormon Trail all passed through this specific area on their great journey west. Wagon ruts nearly five feet deep that were created by the thousands of wagons carrying pioneers west are clearly visible. Visitors will be able to get an up close experience of what it may have been like to travel through this historic trail corridor.
The site is open all year around from sunrise to sunset.
There is no fee required to visit the OTRSHS site.
Oregon Trail Ruts State Historic Site (OTR) has a picnic shelter with picnic tables that are the perfect place to rest have a picnic while visiting the site.
The picnic shelter and the tables are easily found along the western edge of the parking area of the OTR site.
The shelter and tables are available for public use when the site is open, sunrise through sunset.
There are no fees to visit the OTR site.
