About:
Connect with nature on the trail north to the scenic overlook on the Big Laramie River. This area is home to many species of fish, animals, birds and insects. Interpretative signs along the trail and at overlook help identify the wildlife in the area.

- Laramie River Nature Trail – This trail begins at the prison stockade and winds north along the Laramie River to a scenic overlook shelter at a bend in the river. Interpretation topics include Laramie Basin Inhabitants; Geology and Soils; Riparian Wetland Mammals; Riparian/Wetland Habitats; Riparian Bird Life; Riparian/Wetland Vegetation; Laramie River Flora and Fauna; Laramie River Fishery

The overlook is located on the river, ¼ mile north of Prison Stockade.

The museum and site grounds will be CLOSED on the following holidays: Thanksgiving (November 25 and 26) New Year's Day (January 1)
GUIDED TOURS Start May 27 and will continue through Oct 1. Guided Tour Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 10am, 11:30am,1pm, and 2:30pm. Mondays guided tours are 10am, 11:30am, and 2:30pm. No additional fees apply, purchase tickets upon arrival. SELF TOUR available during operational hours. Purchase tickets upon arrival.
