Self-Guided Interpretive Trail - MEDICINE LODGE

About:

Medicine Lodge has two self-guided, nature-based interpretive trails. The Nature Trail is .5 miles in length and considered to be of “easy” difficulty. The Deer Path Trail is 1 mile in length and is of moderate difficulty.

Site Status

 

Medicine Lodge State Archaeological Site is open year round with well maintained access to the park no matter the conditions.

The 2025 Group Area reservations begin on January 2 at 8:00am, and will be available online at reserve.wyoming.gov or by calling 877-996-7275. 

Seasonal Water Closure - October through April (sometimes mid-May)

Water will only be available at one hydrant that is located next to the Site Cabin.

Hours

 
  • The park is open daily from 6:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
  • Park Headquarters Hours M-F: 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., also open most weekends during the busy season.
  • The interpretive cabins are closed seasonally from October 31 through April 30. Call ahead prior to your visit to arrange to have the cabins unlocked.
