About:

Hawk Springs State Recreation Area is very popular reservoir that offers a variety of water-based recreation activities. Jet skiing, boating and fishing are all major attractions of this park.

  • A boat launching facility & ramp is available immediately as you enter the park.
  • The boat ramp area does have a floating dock that is available for boaters to use as they unload and load their boat trailers.
AvailabilityAvailability

The boat ramp and dock are available as water levels allow, usually when the ice goes off the lake in the spring until the fall months.

FeesFees

All vehicles must have the appropriate Daily Use and Overnight Camping permits. A self-pay canister is located at the park’s entrance.

Avoid contact with water in the vicinity of the bloom, Do not ingest water from the bloom, Rinse fish with clean water and eat only the fillet portion, Avoid water spray from the bloom, Do not allow pets or livestock to drink water near the bloom, eat bloom material, or lick fur after contact.

If people, pets, or livestock come into contact with a bloom,
rinse off with clean water as soon as possible and contact a doctor or veterinarian.

  • With the appropriate fees and permits, Hawk Springs State Recreation Area is open 24 hours per day year-around.
  • Site potable water hydrants are useable from May 1 - September 30.
