Boating - HAWK SPRINGS

About:

Hawk Springs State Recreation Area provides access to one of the only reservoirs suitable for boating along the eastern border of Wyoming. The reservoir attracts fishing enthusiasts and water recreation boaters from around the region.

  • Boating access to the reservoir is found immediately as you enter the park.
  • The boat ramp and it’s associated parking area are the first things that a visitor sees as they enter the park.
AvailabilityAvailability

Boating opportunities are available as water levels allow, generally from when the ice goes off in the spring to when the ice reforms in the fall.

FeesFees

Appropriate Daily Use and Overnight Camping fees apply. A self-pay canister is located at the park’s entrance.

Avoid contact with water in the vicinity of the bloom, Do not ingest water from the bloom, Rinse fish with clean water and eat only the fillet portion, Avoid water spray from the bloom, Do not allow pets or livestock to drink water near the bloom, eat bloom material, or lick fur after contact.

If people, pets, or livestock come into contact with a bloom,
rinse off with clean water as soon as possible and contact a doctor or veterinarian.

  • With the appropriate fees and permits, Hawk Springs State Recreation Area is open 24 hours per day year-around.
  • Site potable water hydrants are useable from May 1 - September 30.
