About:

Guernsey State Park is a registered national historic landmark. The park has long been known as a haven for camping, boating and hiking, but its real treasure may lie in the wonderful work completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) that can be seen throughout the park. CCC projects like the “Castle,” the Guernsey Museum, historic picnic shelters, unique drinking fountains, trails, bridges and more are a must see at Guernsey State Park.

  • Historic features can be found throughout the park.
  • The “Museum”, picnic shelters at Sitting Bull, Red Cloud, Spotted Tail day use/campgrounds can all be seen on the east side of the reservoir off of Lake Side Drive.
  • Unique structures like the “Castle”, the “Million Dollar Biffy”, Brimmer Point Scenic Overlook and miles of hiking trails can all be found on the west side of the park.

The Guernsey Museum is a seasonal facility that is open from May 1 through September 30. Visitors may visit the Museum between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m..
