
Group Picnic Shelters - GUERNSEY
About:
Guernsey State Park has 8 shelters that may be used for group picnics. Two of these facilities are on the reservation system and may be reserved online. Many of the Guernsey State Park picnic shelters were constructed by Civilian Conservation Corps and provide a one-of-a-kind picnicking opportunity.

Shelters suitable for group picnic activities may be found at:
- Sandy Point Campground
- The “Castle”
- Spotted Tail Campground
- Sitting Bull Day Use Area
- Red Cloud Campground
- Black Canyon Point Camping Area
- Long Canyon Campground
- And below the dam at the Spillway Day Use Area

All picnic shelters are useable throughout the year. However, The Castle and Sany Point may be reserved May 1 to September 30, 4 monhts in advance online HERE or by calling our Call Center at 877-996-7275

- The group shelter in Sandy Point Campground and the shelter at the Castle may be reserved for $66/day
- Appropriate Daily Use and Overnight Camping fees apply.

GUERNSEY LOW WATER LEVELS 7/9 - 7/26
Beginning on July 5th, the release of water from Glendo reservoir will be decreased. Guernsey water levels will lower rapidly, with boat ramps becoming unusable by July 9th. The reservoir is expected to be suitable for swimming/boating again by the morning of July 27th.
Camping in Wyoming State Parks now open to ALL visitors. Social distancing guidelines in place. |
