Self-Guided Interpretive Trail - FORT PHIL KEARNY
About:
Three main interpretive trails: Fort Phil Kearny – mostly flat, wide, pea gravel trail acceptable for use by most large-wheeled strollers. Fetterman Battlefield – 1.5 miles round-trip, rolling hills, single-track trail. Wagon Box- very short paved walking path in teardrop shape – pit toilets and picnic shelter available at Wagon Box.
More Information:
- Always bring water, proper footwear, and proper outer wear. Weather changes rapidly and dramatically in Wyoming. Fetterman Battlefield users are warned to watch the trail ahead of them, and stay on the path – rattlesnakes are plentiful at that site, especially in August.
