In conjunction with the eighth annual Wyoming Governor’s Match, presented by Vortex Optics, the Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation and local partners Advance Casper, Casper Shooters Club, David Street Station, and Visit Casper are thrilled to host the second annual Wyoming Firearms & Outdoor Recreation Expo on July 20, in Casper, Wyoming.
“I have been looking forward to the 2024 Wyoming Governor’s Match and Wyoming Firearms & Outdoor Recreation Expo in Casper all year long,” Governor Gordon said. “It’s our chance to showcase Wyoming’s support of shooting sports and to celebrate the freedom of the second amendment. Fortunately we have the best location, competitors, and companies the shooting sports world has to offer, right here in Wyoming.”
Not only has the Wyoming Governor's Match become a tradition for many, bringing together spectators, shooting sports organizations, legislators, and other elected officials to interact with some of the nation’s best competition shooters, but it has also become a way to showcase Wyoming’s growing hunting, shooting sports and outdoor recreation economies.
"Every year, our office and match organizers strive to enhance this high-level match not only for participants, but for residents and out of state visitors,” said Laurel Stephens, outreach coordinator for the Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation. “Through the support of Governor Gordon’s Office and our local partners, we were able to once again invite Wyoming firearms and outdoor recreation industry leaders from across the state to participate in this exciting annual exposition that highlights the importance of these industries to our state.”
This year, match competitors, spectators, and residents will have the opportunity to explore Wyoming’s hunting, shooting sports, and outdoor recreation industry at David Street Station in downtown Casper on Saturday, July 20th from 11:00AM - 7:30PM.
The expo is open to the public, admission free, and features exhibitor booths, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. Local food and beverage vendors will also be onsite. Attendees can explore products, gear and demos by the following Wyoming-based brands and organizations:

Wyoming Outdoor Recreation recognizes the importance of hunting and shooting sports in the outdoor recreation economy. In 2022, Wyoming’s outdoor recreation economy increased to $2.02 billion or 4.1% of the state’s GDP according to the latest report from the Bureau of Economic Analysis with hunting and shooting sports ranked as the third-highest contributing activity.
To further highlight the economic benefits of outdoor recreation, Wyoming Outdoor Recreation and the National Shooting Sports Foundation will host an Outdoor Recreation Legislative Panel on July 20th at 12:30PM, giving legislators and other elected officials the opportunity to discuss the importance of growing and sustaining these industries. This free event is open to the public at the Wyoming Outdoor Recreation and State Parks tent located at the entrance of the Stuckenhoff Shooters Complex.
Members of the public are also welcome to watch competitors shoot throughout the competition weekend free of admission. The competition’s 200 competitors will begin shooting Friday, July 19th from 12:30PM-5:30PM., on Saturday, July 20th, from 7:30AM-5:30PM, and conclude on Sunday, July 21st from 7:30AM-12:30PM. Please note there will not be food and beverage vendors at the range. Spectators are strongly encouraged to wear eye and ear protection while onsite.
