September 25, 2017 Contact: Nick Neylon, 307-431-4866 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Experience Wyoming’s State Parks on two wheels during “Bike Your Park Day,” September 30, a national event that encourages people to discover parks by bicycle. This is a Wyoming State Parks Kids eXtreme event. Free admission is granted to kids, their parents and other adults who participate in Bike Your Park Day. Paarticipants are invited to ride at any Wyoming State Park in celebration of Bike Your Park Day, however two venues, Medicine Lodge and Fort Bridger, have scheduled special rides. Last year, more than 11,000 people in all 50 states and 10 countries participated in the inaugural Bike Your Park Day. Adventure Cycling Association, a nonprofit bicycling organization, coordinates the event nationally and expects an increased turnout compared to last year’s event. Riders, especially minors are encouraged to wear bike helmets. Details for special Bike Your Park Day events at various Wyoming State Parks will be made available in the near future. Information about these rides will be available on the Wyoming State Parks website www.wyoparks.org. Several Wyoming State Parks, Curt Gowdy, Glendo and Guernsey, offer many miles of trails suitable for mountain and fat bike riding year round and are popular destinations throughout the year. The two Wyoming State Parks hosted rides are: Fort Bridger – “Tour De Fort,” 10 a.m., Two Mile Ride through History at Fort Bridger, children 12 and younger who complete the closed course receives a prize, refreshments provided at the end of the course, course closes at noon, free admission.
Medicine Lodge -- Rock Art Ride, all ages welcome, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., meet at park headquarters (Red Barn), 1 mile loop through campground ending with guided rock art tour, free stickers for all participants, loaners will be available at park headquarters for those without a bike. |
