The annual Fort Phil Kearny Family Pheasant Hunt will be held Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, beginning each day at 9 a.m. No pre-registration is required.

This event is an opportunity for families and friends hunting with young people ages 17 and younger to harvest pheasants, practice safe hunting skills and enjoy the Piney Creek landscape on the Fort grounds.

All hunters, including youth hunters, are required to adhere to licensing requirements and regulations, possess conservation stamps, have hunter safety certification or be enrolled in the Hunter Mentor Program, and purchase the $15.50 pheasant special management stamp.

Additionally, adult hunters will need to pay the daily admission fee to the Fort - $2 for Wyoming residents and $4 for nonresidents. Hunters ages 17 and under will receive free admission.

For several years, Fort Phil Kearny has participated in the Game and Fish’s Access Yes program as a Hunter Management Area. The Fort allows the hunting public to pursue deer, antelope, pheasant, dove, partridge, turkey and rabbits on approximately 500 acres of historic Fort grounds.

Fort Phil Kearny is located at 528 Wagon Box Road in Banner, Wyoming. For more information, please call the Fort at 307-684-7629.
