December 12, 2019 Curt Gowdy State Park now features several new camping opportunities. Jerre’s Haven, named after famed sportscaster Curt Gowdy’s wife, features 13 campsites with electrical hookups. Jerre’s Haven has sweeping views of the reservoir and is close to many of the park’s most popular amenities, including Aspen Grove trailhead, the causeway, and the camp store. Like many of Curt Gowdy’s other campgrounds, Jerre’s Haven is tied into the parks trail system making access to the 41-plus miles of IMBA Epic trails as easy as walking out your front door. Other improvements to Curt Gowdy State Park include the addition of electric RV hook-ups at Camp Russell and Happy Jack campgrounds including multiple pedestals in double and group sites. Coming in 2020, there will be two new camping opportunities. Jerre’s Haven will feature four walk-in tent sites for a backcountry-type experience. Additionally, the installation of four new camping cabins is underway at Sherman Hills. These cabins have one queen-size bed, two sets of bunk-beds, and are air-conditioned and heated for year-round accessibility. To enjoy these new overnight opportunities in Curt Gowdy State Park please visit www.wyo-park.com or call 877-996-7275 to make reservations. Campsites are available up to four months in advance of arrival date.
