About:

Keyhole State Park has one designated beach area.

The beach area has several restrictions: 

  1. No pets.
  2. No fishing.
  3. No boat traffic.

The beach area is located just south of the Keyhole marina, between the Marina and Pat’s Point Campground.

  • The beach area access road is closed during the winter months.

About:

There are a total of 5 boat ramps at Keyhole State Park, four of which have docks. Additional information on current boat ramp levels is located HERE. 

More information:

  • The boat ramp docks' purpose is solely to assist with the launching and retrieval of boats.
  • Fishing from the boat ramp docks is prohibited.

  • There are boat ramps with docks located at the Wind Creek Campground, Coulter Bay Area, Pat’s Point Campground and at the Marina.
  • There is a boat ramp located in the Tatanka Campground, but it does not have a dock.

  • These ramps are seasonal.
  • They are open for use for boats as long as there is no ice on the lake.
  • Once ice forms over the lake, and the ice is thick enough, the ramps are open to ice fishermen for access to the lake surface.
  • The docks are pulled up out of the way in the winter to make lake access easier for ice fishermen and to prevent damage to the docks.

  • There is no additional fee to use the boat ramp or dock.

About:

There are four reservable cabins located at Keyhole State Park. The cabins are 12’x12’ with one full-sized bed and a set of bunk beds. They have a heater/AC unit for year-round usage. There are a table and two chairs in the cabin as well. Linens are not provided. Unfortunately, there is no indoor plumbing but the campground does offer vault toliets and water spigots. No cooking is permitted inside the cabins and pets are not allowed.

The cabins are located in the Tatanka Campground, and have easy lake access.

The cabins are available year-round, and must be reserved through our reservation system HERE or by phone at 877-996-7275. Reservations are accepted a maximum of four (4) months in advance of arrival. 

FeesFees
  • $50.00 per night to rent the cabin plus the daily use and camping fees for each vehicle.

Keyhole State Park is on Keyhole Reservoir, which has 14,720 acres of navigable water for fishing and recreational use.

More information:

  • Boats must be properly registered and inspected for aquatic invasive species prior to launching.
  • Please ensure your boat is properly equipped with safety equipment, i.e., life jackets, fire extinguishers, etc.

  • Keyhole State Park is located in the northeast corner of Wyoming, just 6 miles off of Highway I-90.
  • Take exit 165, and go North, until you reach the park entrance.
AvailabilityAvailability
  • Boating is available year-round, as long as the ice is off the lake. Normally ice covers the lake in the winter, starting anywhere from October to December.
  • The ice comes off the lake sometime around late March to early May.

Keyhole State Park has 10 campgrounds with a total of 300 RV and tent camping sites. The Tatanka Campground is the only area with amenities (water and electricity hookups). Campsites at Wind Creek Campground are available on a first come, first served basis. All other campsites are available by reservation only from May 1 to September 30, and available on a first come, first served basis outside of those dates. Call 1-877-996-7275 to make a reservation.

  • Reservable group sites are available in Tatanka, Pat's Point, and Cottonwood.

Keyhole State Park is located in the Northeast corner of Wyoming, 6 miles north of I-90 off of exit 165.

The park is open to camping year-round, with reservations being required for all campgrounds except Wind Creek from May 1st through Sept 30th. Outside of these dates, all campsites are available on a first come, first served basis.

  • Must pay the daily use fee and a camping fee.
  • If a person is staying in the Tatanka Campground, they must also pay an additional amenities fee.
