Our group camping area has two horseshoe pits and shoes are available for checkout at park headquarters.

Fees

Parties that have reserved our group camping area have sole access to the horseshoe pits during their reservation period.
Other times, horseshoe pits are first-come, first-serve.
Standard group camping area fee applies, or in the absence of a reservation horseshoe pits are free.

Medicine Lodge State Archaeological Site is open year round with well maintained access to the park no matter the conditions.

Seasonal Water Closures occur from October through April, and re-opens in May.

During the off-season, water will only be available at one hydrant that is located next to the Site Cabin, across from the Red Barn.

The park is open daily from 6:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
Park Headquarters Hours M-F: 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., also open most weekends during the busy season.
The interpretive cabins are closed seasonally from October 31 through April 30. Call ahead prior to your visit to arrange to have the cabins unlocked.
