
Historical Features - HISTORIC GOVERNORS' MANSION
About:
Built in 1904, this Colonial Revival structure has many interesting architectural and historic features. The sandstone columns in the front of the building were hand sculpted and installed on-site. As you tour the grounds, note the lack of keystones (the sandstone above the windows) on the east side and the masonry mistake on the west side of the building. Changes to the structure have added a breakfast nook and a sunporch throughout its lifetime. Historic features include many furnishings and decor that are original to the home. View the stair lift chair used by First Lady Casey Herschler to access the second floor as well as original 1904 stained glass on the first floor landing.

Hours: The Mansion is currently closed while staff and volunteers decorate and get ready for the site's annual Christmas exhibit, Tinsel Through Time.
