About:

Guernsey State Park is situated along the North Platte River and Guernsey Reservoir which provides a variety of habitats that are home to a wide variety of wildlife species. The park is a birders and wildlife viewing haven.

The entire park provides valuable habitat for all types and species of wildlife. The riparian areas, open grasslands, canyons and timbered hillsides provide excellent locations to watch for the many species of birds and animals that call Wyoming home.

AvailabilityAvailability

Wildlife viewing opportunities are good throughout the year, but, the springtime and autumn months are the best times of the year to spot the wild things of the park.

Important Information:

Camping in Wyoming State Parks now open to ALL visitors. Reservations required. Social distancing guidelines in place. 

Fire Restrictions to Begin at Glendo & Guernsey, Jun 16

Open campfires are currently restricted; however, propane grills and stoves, charcoal grills and gas fire pits are allowed.

  • Guernsey State Park is open all year. Since we do have overnight camping the park is open 24 hours per day with the appropriate permits.
  • The Guernsey Museum is a seasonal facility that is open from May 1 through September 30. Visitors may visit the Museum between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m..
