History

History:

Sinks Canyon has served as a corridor from the river valley below to the high peaks of the Wind River Mountains. Humans, who were attracted by the rich natural resources, arrived in the canyon approximately 9000 years ago.

Ice, wind and water have carved the U shaped valley and provided access for flora, fauna and humans to utilize the rich natural resources found in the canyon and the montane/alpine region above.
