About:
South Pass City Historic Site was created to preserve and interpret the history of South Pass City and the Carissa Mill. South Pass City is a gold mining town that started in 1868 and had multiple booms and busts up to the 1950s. The Carissa Mine and Mill were the largest producers of gold in the area.
