Visitor Center - BEAR RIVER
About:
The Visitors Center has much to offer! At our Visitor Center we have a large array of Wyoming Wildlife mounts that range from: fish, birds, small mammals such as Ermine, Yellow-bellied Marmots, Badgers, Red Fox, etc. all the way up to Grizzly and Black Bears. Of course we also have life-size mounts of the two original captive bull elk that we had at Bear River along with our adored Bison bull, King, that called Bear River home for most of his 21 years.
We have interpretive programs that we do as well, mostly for school or organization groups, but we do have lots of information for anyone wanting to learn about Wyoming and its wildlife, State Parks, Historic Sites, and Trails along with any Wyoming information for travel, places of interest, etc.
Just out the Visitor Center's back door, during winter, and or front door, during the summer, visitors will find our Bison herd that is normally viewable year round. We sell souvenirs such as ceramics, metal magnets, and decals all made locally in Evanston. Other items include: mugs, shot glasses, playing cards, postcards, books, etc.
At the VC we also take reservations for our shelters in the park. The Visitor Center has restroom facilities generally open 24/7 and we also have: three individual covered picnic areas, two dog runs, a viewing deck, and two dump stations.
