Fire Restrictions in Place

Prohibited: 
Open flames/wood fires, gas fireplaces/firepits, tiki torches, and fireworks.
 Permitted:
Approved gas grills with a lid.

Monitoring Keyhole Reservoir

Keep yourself, pets, and livestock out of green water, floating scums or clumps.
If contact occurs: rinse with clean water immediately and contact a doctor or veterinarian if symptoms develop.

Attention:

Coulter Bay Boat Dock:

The dock is currently in and available for use.

 

Facilities:

All campgrounds are open, the water is on, and the shower house is available.

 

Tatanka Campground:

Sites with both electric and water hookups are available.

 

Coulter Bay Campground:

Sites with electric hookups are available.

 

Quiet Hours:

10 PM – 6 AM. Please, no music or generators during this time.

 

Notice: 

End-of-Season Closures & Facilities Update

  • September 30, 2026

    • Cottonwood and Homestead Campgrounds close for the season.

    • Water is turned off at Cottonwood and Homestead.

  • October 15, 2026

    • Arch Rock, Pronghorn, and Beach Area Campgrounds close for the season.

    • Water is turned off for all campgrounds.

    • Shower House and Fish Cleaning Station close for the season.

  • November 1, 2026

    • All docks will be removed from the water and will be inaccessible.

    • Note: Dock removal date is subject to change based on weather.

 

  • Camping reservation season is May 15th - September 15th. All campsites are first come, first served outside of this time period. Cabins in Tatanka may be reserved year-round through Reserve.Wyoming.Gov. A reservation is needed 48 hours in advance during the off-season.
  • Docks and water systems are typically available annually from May 15th - October 15th (weather permitting).
  • RV dump station is available seasonally, weather dependent.
  • Fish cleaning station is available seasonally.

Keyhole Public Forum
The Wyoming Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources has hosted three public forums to update the public and gather feedback on a proposed visitor center in the Coulter Bay Area at Keyhole State Park.
