Glendo State Park Hosts Night Skies Program July 8

Glendo State Park will host a Night Skies Program from 9-11 p.m. on Saturday, July 8 at Shelter Point. Mead telescopes will be available to view the night skies along with an amateur astronomer from Douglas, Wyoming  to discuss the various stars and constellations.

Guests should meet at the picnic shelter on the west end of Shelter Point Campground. The park will provide red-light flashlights which are encouraged, to limit the amount of light pollution. In addition, park staff asks that visitors position their vehicle in a location away from the viewing area.

Glendo Night Skies Program is part of a series of star gazing events to be held throughout the summer and is made possible through donated telescopes from Mead Instruments.
