New tourist season has arrived and with it opportunities to share our Site’s amazing history in fun and unique ways. Connecting with history is easier when you have a link to the past. That link is our new Living History program and demonstrations. Convicts in stripes, guards, a new warden, Dr. Slosson, and even the women convicts all have stories to share with our visitors.

The year will be filled with new events and exhibits. A traveling exhibit entitled Bittersweet Harvest The Bracero Program 1942-1964, is a bilingual national traveling exhibition by the Smithsonian’s National Museum and it will be on display June 3 to August 13, 2017. This bilingual exhibit looks at an important but overlooked chapter in American history of the largest guest worker program in U.S. history. The guest worker program between U.S. and Mexico. ¡Celebremos! The exhibit opening will celebrate with a Bracero Fiesta featuring music, mariachi band, flamenco dancers, piñatas, and more!

Busy year ahead - come out and Do Some Time with Us.
