butch-cassidy            Robert Leroy Parker, “Butch Cassidy”, was sentenced on July 12, 1894 for two years in the State Penitentiary at Laramie for Grand Larceny (horse stealing).  On January 19, 1896 Cassidy was pardoned by Governor Richards because of an unjust trial.  The pardon did not reform Cassidy.  What could not be foreseen was he would meet the Sundance Kid, form the Wild Bunch Gang, and Butch Cassidy would become one of the most elusive, dangerous, and successful outlaws in the history of the American West.
